Vivien Hui, General Manager at Introv, opened with the essential foundation: data integrity. Her session demonstrated how AI-powered OCR integrated with unified project accounting in Oracle NetSuite transforms back-office efficiency for project-based enterprises.
Invoice intake, timesheet tracking, and multi-entity Work-In-Progress (WIP) management represent three of the most labor-intensive and audit-sensitive processes in AEC finance. Automating these workflows does more than eliminate manual data entry, it ensures project accounts are fully audit-ready when upcoming 2027 tender reviews arrive.
Predictive Analytics: Spotting Margin Slippage Before It Strikes
Jin Leung, Principal Solutions Consultant at Oracle NetSuite, addressed the next phase: leveraging clean, consolidated data for strategic foresight.
Utilizing NetSuite Analytics Warehouse (NSAW) and NetSuite Planning and Budgeting (NSPB) generative narratives, finance teams can forecast cash flows and identify project margin slippage long before it hits the balance sheet.
For an industry where margin erosion is historically discovered during month-end reconciliation or post-project reviews, shifting from retrospective reporting to real-time forward visibility transforms compliance data into a competitive bidding advantage.
Autonomous AI agents: Handling the Exceptions
Matt Li, Co-Founder of Branch8 and Second Talent, closed with the layer that sits outside the ERP.
His live session focused on operationalising autonomous AI agents to handle real-world business exceptions — the edge cases that stall most automation projects. He walked through how frontline 4S site data can be bridged into a secure, tamper-proof CDE, with governance and audit trails built in rather than bolted on.
The recurring theme: automation that only works on the happy path doesn’t survive contact with a live site. The systems that hold up are the ones designed around what happens when an input fails, and around a deliberate human checkpoint where judgement is genuinely required.
The thread running through all three
Each session approached the same problem from a different angle. Vivien covered getting reliable data into the system. Jin covered getting foresight out of it. Matt covered the messy, judgement-heavy work that happens before anything is clean enough for an ERP at all.
Taken together, they describe a practical sequence rather than three separate products: establish the data foundation, build analytics on top, and use AI agents to handle what falls outside the rules.
